New York Furs opened its doors in 1923 on Adelaide Street, in the neighbourhood that helped shape Toronto’s garment trade. More than a century later, the shop is still built around the same practical idea: buy good skins, cut and finish them properly, and take care of the garment for as long as the client owns it.
Chris and Peter Kotsaboikidis bring decades of hands-on experience to the work, from selecting pelts at international auctions to fitting, tailoring, restoring, and storing finished pieces. It is a family trade, learned over time and practiced in-house.

New York Furs attends respected international fur auctions, including NAFA, American Legend, Sojuzpushnina, SAGA, Kopenhagen, and major fur fairs in Hong Kong, Athens, and Milan. That sourcing knowledge matters.

The shop handles custom garments, alterations, repairs, cleaning, glazing, storage, and restoration. Clients come in for new pieces, inherited coats, wedding garments, trim work, and practical seasonal care.
